Background:

This project transforms an existing auto shop in Southern Pines, North Carolina, into a refined cafe experience through adaptive reuse. Inspired by the Tudor Revival, the town’s history of pine trees, equestrian culture, local railway station, and the client’s family tradition of leaving their grandkids’ footprints at every business they own, serving as a source of way-finding through the space.
